Mark Sedlander

Mark Sedlander is a trial attorney and litigator whose practice consists of white collar defense, government investigations, and business litigation.

Mr. Sedlander has represented corporate clients and people facing government investigations, including executives, management personnel, and other corporate employees and professionals. He regularly negotiates with the Department of Justice and other prosecuting and investigative state and federal agencies.

Before joining Mancini Shenk LLP, Mr. Sedlander represented clients charged with federal criminal offenses with the Office of the Federal Public Defender in the Central District of California. He handled complex commercial matters as an Associate in the litigation department at a New York City law firm and clerked for the Honorable Fernando M. Olguin in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles.

• ●Demonstrated that a federal agency overstated a client’s sentencing guidelines range by more than 15 years: guidelines range revised downward and accepted by sentencing court
• ●Obtained dismissal on due process grounds of a federal indictment alleging illegal reentry into the United States
• ●Numerous successful motions to suppress evidence on constitutional grounds by court order or government acquiescence
• ●Significant experience defending against Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Conspiracy (RICO) charges
• ●Obtained a government dismissal following a motion to dismiss on grounds that the indictment and police ballistics report failed to allege facts demonstrating that a damaged pistol was a “firearm” under the relevant criminal statute
• ●Represented former executive and senior management of a large medical management services organization during an investigation by California state regulators (Department of Managed Health Care), the United States Department of Health & Human Services, and the United States Department of Justice
